Knobbly elbows be gone

If it’s good enough for Victoria Beckham, it’s good enough for me!

I’m talking about Welda Skin Food, something (so I read) Mrs Beckham swears by!

I received my trail in last months birchbox and have found it to be a dry skin saviour!

Like most people the skin on my elbows can be a little on the dry and knobbly side, but since using Welda Skin Food its been much softer and ready to be revealed to the world in the summer. (If summer arrives!)

At just £8.95 for a 75ml tube this is a skin saviour not to be missed!

The bikinis are coming, the bikinis are coming…… don’t panic

Ok so I might be over-exaggerating the unnecessary panic that comes with a beach holiday but, in exactly four weeks time I will be hitting the beaches of Marbella and you know what that means……. swimwear!

For me the so called ‘bikini body’  of being super super toned and slim is something only to be seen on celebs in the weekly gossip mags. Now i’m sure if I had all the hours in the day to spend in the gym and eating lettuce, I would, but real life gets in the way.

This year the girls and I are heading to Marbs for a four night break to celebrate our friends hen do. From what I know and have read, Marbella is pretty fashion conscious and everyone seems to be competing against each other in the style stakes. I’m ready for them! To save that embarrassing moment of revealing my bikini clad self on the beach i’ve opted for a one piece from asos.

Wearing a one-piece always had me conjure up visions of older ladies, but there are some really gorgeous ones on the market at the moment.

I love this one from asos and a bargain at only £30:

I love this tropical print from New Look:

So i’ve solved my holiday swimwear dilemmas, now I just need to work out what else to pack??

Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Mascara

Last week I was lucky enough to be in Covent Garden at the right time during Glossybox’s 2nd birthday event and received one of their free giveaway boxes when the ‘Giant Glossybox’ opened.

One of the items in the free box was a new product from Jelly Pong Pong – Fairy Lashes Mascara in Flutter (intense black). This is the brands first foray into mascaras. Normally I stick with my tried and tested MAC products but I just couldn’t resist the cute packaging and gave it ago.

The coverage provided is great and as it says gives the lashes a very intense black look, it is also durable and lasted on my lashes all day. As well as this it feels really light on my lashes, almost like i’m not wearing and mascara at all. Aside from all of this it is also waterproof and so far seems smudge proof. (I have a tendency to wipe my eyes without realising)

I really like the product and will keep it in my handbag for emergencies but it hasn’t quite done enough to make me switch from my tried and tested MAC products!

Making a statement

I love a statement necklace, I find it can really bring an outfit together. Also it’s a great way of updating an old outfit without having to break the bank.

I recently purchased this beauty from a little local boutique, not only is it super bright but works well with the current neon trend.

There are some really gorgeous statement necklaces on the high street at the moment, these are just a couple of my favourites.

Happy Birthday Glossybox

If you’re anywhere near Covent Garden today head down to the piazza. Beauty box brand Glossybox are celebrating their 2nd birthday.

They will be handing out freebies including boxes until 7pm tonight. Who doesn’t like a free giveaway?

Amber Atherton from Made in Chelsea and MyFlashTrash fame will be on hand talking all things beauty.

No Carbs before Marbs……..

I’ve got just under six weeks until I head to Marbs with a group of my closest friends for a hen do and I am currently channeling the mantra ‘no carbs before marbs’ (well sort of)!

I’ve become an ambassador for XLS Medical which is a fat binding tablet which is meant to help you lose three times as much weight then you would with out them. So far I have been taking them for two weeks and at the moment I’m not seeing a radical change, but who knows hopefully there are good weightloss things to come.

As an ambassador I blog for them on a weekly basis which you can read and vote for here. In return they provide weekly e-newsletters with lots of handy hints and tips for a healthy lifestyle.

Whilst watching what I eat, I also completed a marathon on my bike on Sunday to raise money for Brain Tumour Research. I managed to complete the 26miles in 2.5hrs – all without having to get off and push at any point! Hurrah!

Marathon on a mountain bike

With my new found fitness I have also signed up for the Nike Run to the Beat half marathon in September, which is a whole new kettle of fish. I hate running! But it’s all for a good cause to raise further money for Brain Tumour Research.

Wish me luck with training!
